Iredell ISD is seeking a PK-12 School Counselor. This position has the possibility of being a full or part-time position.
Job Title: School Counselor Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Superintendent/Principal Pay Grade: 11 month contract
State Base plus $2,300

Primary Purpose
Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program . Counsel students to fully develop each student’s academic, career, personal, and social abilities.
Education/Certification
• Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas school counselor certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills
• Knowledge of counseling procedures and career development
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents and staff
Experience
• Two years creditable experience as a classroom teacher
Major Responsibilities and Duties
• Plan and implement counseling to students.
• Communicate effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers for planning and delivery of counseling lessons.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records.
• Promote and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
• Adhere to the teacher code of conduct.
• Maintain professional work habits.
• Participate in training as required - attendance to additional training outside designated schedule.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Superintendent/Principal.
