GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
To instruct teacher candidates in areas related to the Texas Educator Standards/T-TESS and beginning teacher competencies.  We are looking for experts in topics such as Special Education, ESL, Classroom Management, Data-Driven Instruction, and Instructional Technology across a variety of grade levels. These positions are part-time, temporary, and filled on an as-needed basis. Instructors will teach in-person evening, weekend, and summer classes. These positions receive general direction from the Program Director of the Alternative Teacher Certification program. 
*Employee may not work more than 19.5 hours per week.*
NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, Teacher Certification in the State of Texas, and at least 3 years teaching experience
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:     Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in Education or a closely related field
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting.  At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
 
BENEFITS:
Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
