Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Provide rigorous and engaging instruction. Prepare students with skills to acquire academic and/or technical associate degrees. Partner with MCC to become an adjunct professor for dual credit English offerings (primarily ENGL 1301/1302) which would include the MCC stipend. Teacher must be approved by MCC as an adjunct professor prior to contracting with the District.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Master’s degree and 18 advanced hours in English
Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsement for high school English. 
ESL endorsement preferred or will be required after hire
GT endorsement a plus

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of subjects assigned 
General knowledge of high school and college curriculum and instruction
Exemplar classroom management skills
Calm and patient demeanor with students and others

Experience:
At least one semester of student teaching or approved internship
Previous college level teaching experience preferred

Salary Range:
$41,288 - $56,888
