Primary Purpose:

Provide leadership and coordination to provide an aligned and articulated instructional program concerning campus level instruction.

Qualifications:

 Education/Certification:
  1. Master’s degree from accredited university preferred
  2. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for assigned grade level(s).
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  1. Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  2. Ability to evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
  3. Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
  4. Ability to interpret data
  5. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
 
Experience:
  1. Three to five years teaching experience in grade level assigned

Major Responsibilities and Duties:


 Instructional and Program Management
  1. Coordinate the review, development, and revision of all subject area programs and related curriculum documents and materials, including curriculum guides, course outlines, and teaching plans.
  2. Work cooperatively with directors and campus principals in developing and supervising the instructional programs on assigned campus.
  3. Plan, improve, and oversee testing programs for the assigned campus
  4. Coordinate the ordering and use of departmental instructional aids and materials for assigned campus.
  5. Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness for the assigned campus instructional programs.
  6. Maintain a staff library of publications, supplementary materials, and supplies relevant to the assigned campus grade level.
  7. Assist in the preparation of the budget and administration of the budget for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment.

Staff Development
  1. Plan and provide staff development for teachers, administration, and staff.
  2. Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels to campus.
  3. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
  4. Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in classroom.

Other
  1. Assist in communicating information to parent and community members about school programs.
  2. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  3. Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
  4. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
  5. Alternative methods of performing duties.

Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
Some overnight travel to attend professional development opportunities.

Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
