GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Resource Aide organizes and maintains child development resource materials, such as preparing, retrieving, cleaning, and returning materials and supplies to their designated locations. This position provides general support to lab school staff, specifically the administrative and kitchen areas. This position reports to the Facility Director of the Child Development Lab School and exercises no supervision.
NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED 
Experience: At least 6 months of experience working with young children ages birth to five (5) years, including work study, graduate work, and internships.
Special Requirements: A minimum of 30 hours additional child development training per year. Commitment to obtain Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Reporting and Recognizing Abuse and Neglect and other required trainings certifications within 90 days of employment. Must possess, or have the ability to obtain food handler’s license within first 14 days of employment. 
 
SELECTION CRITERIA:

Knowledge of:1. English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 2. Preparation and use of developmentally age appropriate materials (birth to age five). 3. Growth and development of young children. Skills in: 4. Early childhood development. 5. CPR/First Aid. 6. Basic technology, specifically Microsoft Office. Ability to: 7. Work with children from birth to age five. 8. Participate in activities of young children. 9. Learn new software and stay abreast of new software applications. 10. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. 11. Create and initiate activity materials for use in children’s classrooms (birth to age 5). 12. Plan and organize activities with young children, including the use of recyclable materials. 13. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 14. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 16. Prioritize to develop, organize, categorize, store, and maintain materials properly. 
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Restricted-Sustained posture, for prolonged periods; light lifting, some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting.  At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
