PRIMARY PURPOSE:  Report directly to the Special Education Director.  Major Responsibilities and Duties are Instructional and Program Management overseeing programs, services, and supports as assigned by Director.   Assist with and monitor procedures for evaluation, placement, assignment, and reevaluation of campus students regarding special education services.  Supervise special education paperwork to see that it meets federal, state, and local requirements.  Assist with billing, budget, status reports, etc. as assigned by Special Education Director.

MAJOR RESONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Collaborate with campus staff regarding the implementation of the Special Education process.
2. Receive student referrals and follow specific timelines to implement the evaluation process.
3. Oversee Diagnostician Interns and provide support with the process of selecting, administering, and scoring formal and informal assessments to determine student eligibility for special education        services according to federal IDEA B laws and Texas Education Agency regulations.
4. Conduct personnel interviews with Director. 
5. Work with the Director and CoOp personnel to ensure timelines are met including monitoring Status Reports.
6. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local board policy in the area of assessment, placement, and planning for special education services.
7. Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.
8. Effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and parents.   
9. Consult with staff, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students and ensure compliance with laws, policies, ARDs, and IEPs providing any needed professional development.
