Evant ISD is located in Central Texas along Highway 281 in Evant, Texas. We are a community oriented school district committed to providing quality academics and extracurricular opportunities for all students. Evant ISD operates a 4-day school week and has approximately 200 students in grades PK-12. We also have a licensed in-school daycare center.

The purpose of the Texas 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC), Cycle 12, grant is
to create community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities for
children, particularly students who attend high-need, high-poverty, low-performing schools, to
meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects. 

The Program Specialist encourages family/parental involvement in the school(s) and provides
ongoing, educational programs to immediate family members, parents/legal guardians of
students enrolled.

*Develop high-quality instructional materials for grades K-6 for a 25-day summer program. 
*Plan, coordinate, and implement the Parent program in each center according to grant
guidelines. Assist site coordinators with ideas and support for parent education (ESL, GED etc).
*Develop strong formal community relationships to build capacity for families, including but not
limited to food scarcity and SEL. 
*Implement special TEA initiatives.
* Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Demands - Standard physical activity such as periodic standing, walking, sitting, basic
motor skills to access computer files for information or simple data entry. Travel along with
frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
Mental Demands - Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy,
procedures, and data; coordinate events; maintain emotional control under stress.
 
Education/Certification
 Bachelor's degree required
 Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
 Three or more years of successful adult education experience or equivalent  
Special Knowledge/Skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Must be familiar with the community and support agencies
* Must be adaptable to meet the needs of the families in the program in addition to working
flexible hours to accommodate work in the evening

* Experience working in an educational, social service, or family support service setting
* Experience with child development and effective parenting techniques
* Experience working with families that have diverse cultures and economic backgrounds
* Ability to communicate in native language(s) of program recipients preferred

Additional Information
• Full-time position (12 months) for a period of up to four (4) years Or if approved by TEA could
be two half-time posistions
• Position based at Evant ISD serving eight (4) districts
