Primary Purpose:    
Provide oversight and structure to the campus Response to Intervention Program (RtI) through support to students to ensure that students who are at risk of school failure receive appropriate and timely interventions to address their individual learning needs.
 
Qualifications:          
 
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of RtI process and intervention programs
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
  • Three years teaching experience, preferred
  • Experience with implementing RtI and MTSS, preferred
 
Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instruction

  1. Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of students who are at risk of school failure in English/Language Arts/Reading (ELAR).  
  2. Identify appropriate interventions for students based on their individual learning needs from the district-approved intervention list.
  3. Facilitate afterschool scheduling of tutorials and interventions in English/Language Arts/Reading (ELAR).

Program Management

  1. Serve as the Campus RtI case manager.
    • Complete documentation forms for students involved in RtI support.
    • Oversee progress monitoring and any necessary changes to interventions as a result of progress monitoring.
    • Gather materials and resources to support RtI interventions with students.
    • Ensure completion of universal screeners within the timeframe set by the district.
  2. Provide bi-weekly updates to campus and district administration on the RtI program implementation.
  3. Attend RtI training and serve as a trainer for other campus staff.
  4. Serve as a member of the Student Assistance Team for at-risk students.
  5. Coordinate the RtI program with the campus special education team.

Communication

  1. Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
