- Manage the school technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, software, security systems, content filter, and phones. Anything else that may fall under the technology umbrella.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware for computers and Chromebooks.
- Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of technology equipment and software, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff and students, addressing issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with instructional staff to integrate technology into teaching and learning activities, promoting innovative and effective pedagogical practices.
- Lead professional development sessions to train faculty and staff on the effective use of technology tools and resources.
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in educational technology, continuously evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to acceptable use of technology, data privacy, and cybersecurity.
- Manage the schools technology budget, including forecasting expenses, negotiating contracts, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Fill out, oversee eRate projects and file for eRate funding.
- Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and service providers to support technology initiatives and projects.
- Collaborate with school leadership to develop strategic plans for technology integration and improvement, providing input and recommendations based on educational needs and priorities.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents, to share updates, solicit feedback, and promote transparency.
- Participate in relevant professional associations, conferences, and networking events to exchange ideas and stay informed about industry developments.
- Maintain the school website and social media.
- Asset deployment, disposal and record keeping.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Previous experience in educational technology leadership roles, preferably in a K-12 school setting.
- Strong technical expertise in network infrastructure, hardware/software systems, educational software applications, and cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technology projects from conception to completion, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of educational pedagogy and instructional design principles, with experience integrating technology into curriculum development and delivery.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to educational technology, data privacy, and cybersecurity.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
