We offer an array of programs from life skills courses to high school equivalency (HSE) and diploma tracks, along with dual-credit courses and career and technical education (CTE) training. The district’s emphasis extends beyond academics, equipping its students with indispensable skills and knowledge crucial for reentry into Texas communities.

Job Title:  Substitute Teacher
 
Wage/Hour Status:  Non-Exempt
 
Pay Group:  Contract Hourly
 
Primary Purpose: Preserve the normal routine of the classroom and follow the plans left by the teacher of record.
 
Qualifications
 
Education/Certification/Experience:
 
High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED.
 
Fifteen credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred.
 
Elementary or Secondary teaching certification in a foundation subject area highly preferred.
 
Teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
 
 
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
 
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
 
Major Responsibilities and Duties: 
 
1.  Provide instruction to students.
 
2.  Perform absent teacher’s class plan.
 
3.  Maintain the established routines and procedures of the campus and classroom.
 
4.  Perform other duties as assigned.

5.  Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.
 
6.  Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at location of work assignment.
 
7.  Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.
 
8.  Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
