Primary Purpose:
To develop, implement and support a comprehensive multilingual learning system for Belton ISD that is designed in alignment with promoting a culture that prioritizes acquisition of skills to become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural. The Director of Multilingual Learning is a vital leadership position responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs and services that support all eligible multilingual learners within Belton ISD. This role ensures equitable access to exceptional learning experiences and fosters an inclusive environment where multilingual learners thrive academically, linguistically, and socially.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Bilingual Education and/or ESL, or related field
Texas Teaching Certificate
Principal Certification Preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience instructional leadership or similar field within a PK-12 setting Proven experience in the development and implementation of multilingual learning experiences and professional learning. Experiences in Bilingual Education or ESL

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategic plan for multilingual services aligned with the organization's vision, goals and both federal and state laws and regulations concerning the education of emerging bilingual students.
  2. Oversee the design, implementation, and assessment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices that meet the diverse needs of multilingual learner that is both TEKS and ELPS aligned.
  3. Articulate and oversee the process for the assessment, identification and implementation of students eligible to receive language services aligned with state and federal guidelines including LPAC standards.
  4. Lead the development and implementation of professional learning programs for teachers and staff to enhance their capacity to effectively serve multilingual learners.
  5. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to multilingual education.
  6. Conduct needs analyses to determine priorities that will drive student success.
  7. Lead collaborative efforts on the design and implementation of a comprehensive and strategic plan for multilingual programming in Belton ISD
  8. Analyze student data to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to enhance services for multilingual learners.
  9. Prepare and present reports to relevant stakeholders on the effectiveness of multilingual services and programs.
  10. Design systems to provide professional learning and support systems for teachers serving multilingual learners.
  11. Develop, lead and manage a diverse range of professional learning options including but not limited to collaborative learning structures, workshops, learning cohorts, coaching, committees, learning labs, online, etc.
  12. Communicate the goals, plans and progress of multilingual services.
  13. Coordinate with campuses and departments to support development of teachers.
  14. Develop and sustain a comprehensive communication plan to ensure system knowledge of multilingual learning needs.
  15. Establish systems for tracking student growth in alignment to program goals.
  16. Recruit, supervise, and evaluate multilingual staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and support personnel.
  17. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that promotes professional growth and continuous improvement.
  18. Keeps abreast of research based best practice for multilingual education.
  19. Manage bilingual allotment and local budget for multilingual services.
  20. Establish strong working relationships with school and district staff.
  21. Other duties as assigned.
