To work as a member of a cooperative team in order to provide an appropriate educational program for the children within the center. Ensure that the policies of the Texas Department of Protective & Regulatory Minimum Standards and Connally ISD are implemented.
 
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Child Development Certificate Desired
15 hours of CPR/First Aid Annually
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work well with children
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
Must have knowledge of Child Protective Services Regulations and their implications for the care and protection of children.
 
Experience:
One year experience working with children preferred
 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Understanding of maintaining a safe environment for children.
  2. Basic knowledge of stage of physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children.
  3. Be responsible for the coordination of the activities of a group of children that are age appropriate.
  4. Organize a pleasant, welcoming and safe environment for children and maintain neat work area.
  5. Indoor and outdoor supervision of children.
  6. Attend to the physical needs of children.
  7. Maintain accurate records.
  8. Maintain confidentiality.
 
  1. Assist supervisor as required in setting up and cleaning equipment
  2. Any other task that is assigned by supervisor.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to undertake all physical requirements involved with an early childhood setting.
  2. Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  3. Able to actively move around the environment while supervising children.
  4. Able to kneel and stand or sit on floor in order to communicate with children at their level.
  5. Able to organize a pleasant, welcoming and safe environment for children. and maintain neat work area.
