Job Description
Primary Purpose:
- Serve as assistant band director and aid in the overall program management of instrumental music (band) for the campus. Provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), Texas Music Educator’s Association (TMEA) and district goals/requirements. Work collaboratively with middle school band feeder programs to recruit and retain students into the band programs. Plan activities to achieve district, region,
and state recognition.

Job Requirements
- Qualifications:
Education/Certification:- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Knowledge of state, UIL and TMEA policies governing band
- Ability to implement policy and procedures and fine arts handbook
- Ability to interpret and record/submit data
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Experience:
- One (1) to three (3) years teaching and band directing experience preferred
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
