Summary: 

Work under general supervision to assist students and teachers in use of computers and educational software in campus computer lab.  Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Assist students and teachers in basic use of computers, printers, and instructional software.
 
• Perform computer backups on a regular basis.
 
• Identify and troubleshoot basic computer problems and arrange for maintenance and repair of computer equipment with District technology staff. 

• Assist with administration, scoring and recording of data of objective testing instruments or work assignments.

• Maintain computer lab in a neat and orderly manner including bulletin boards and displays.

• Adhere to universal precautions 

• Adhere and support campus and classroom discipline as prescribed by the classroom teacher and principal

• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment

• Input data and maintain files on student progress and use of instructional programs.

• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.

• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual student or small groups

• Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, playground duty, bathroom or any other duty assigned by the principal.

• Keep teacher informed immediately of special needs or problems of individual students

• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.

• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.

• Maintain confidentiality at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Principal or Superintendent.

Certified as outlined in No Child Left Behind

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work well with students and adults and to communicate effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations in or out of the school environment. Ability to follow directions as directed by the classroom teacher or principal. Ability to operate basic computer equipment and associated peripherals.
