Primary responsibilities : ● This role will be responsible for teaching 8th12th grade art. ● Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history. ● Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting ● Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art ● Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique ● Provide individual and smallgroup instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities ● Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community ● Support ECA’s mission to foster each child’s intellectual development, love of learning and strength of character. ● Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. ● Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers. ● Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. ● Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Qualifications: ● Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certificate ● Ideal candidates would have experience teaching at the secondary level ● Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
