Primary Purpose:

Assist and support the efficient operation of the Technology Department. Deliver timely and effective technology services to all campuses and administrative departments. Perform on-site technical work and respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing computer hardware, Chromebooks, iPads, software, audio visual equipment and printers.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Two years of technical school (preferred)
Clear and valid driver’s license
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Knowledge of various operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, Chrome, Apple)
Knowledge of Chromebook and Apple devices
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory 
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Ability to install, maintain, and repair computers and peripherals including printers and scanners
Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Subject to assignment

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Administrative
  1. Provide general administrative and clerical support. 
  2. Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system. 
  3. Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff. 
  4. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
  5. Maintain and compile the district equipment and technology parts/supplies inventory.
  6. Prepare quotes and purchase orders upon request for technology and miscellaneous hardware. 
  7. Open/sort and distribute incoming technology shipments per technology budget purchase request.
  8. Compile cost estimates and maintain purchase order requests for district printer supplies.
 
Inventory
  1. Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, and other equipment and material at assigned site(s).
  2. Identify, request and control the inventory of repair parts.
 
Technical Support 
  1. Receive technology work order requests and assist end-users to resolve problems relating to computer and technology related services.
  2. Work cooperatively with staff to assist with logins and passwords.
  3. Provide immediate on-site assistance to campus staff with technology problems and questions.
  4. Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computers and peripherals, network cabling, and network peripherals throughout the district. Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
  5. Install and configure application and operating system software and upgrades.
  6. Help implement and maintain district wide security for all systems by assisting with maintaining network, Internet, and software updates.
  7. Contribute to the development and implementation of a cybersecurity plan and disaster recovery plan as it relates to the districts resources.
  8. Remove old equipment and perform data migration to new machines.
  9. Service equipment according to an established preventative maintenance schedule. Maintain accurate updated records of preventative maintenance.
  10. Process warranty information and repair work with the associated documentation.
  11. Install and perform repairs to equipment, including printers, computers, Chromebooks, iPads, scanners, projectors, document cameras, interactive whiteboards, wired and wireless connections and devices, audio visuals and peripherals.
  12. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on technical devices as needed.
  13. Maintain and schedule recycle service/pick-up for end of life equipment.
 
Other
  1. Ensure that technology services are supportive of the instructional goals of the district.
  2. Assist in the development of the district technology plan.
  3. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.
  4. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Educator Certification rule, and local board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
  5. Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; personal computers and peripherals; small truck or van

Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders

Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds and over)

Environment: Exposure to electrical hazards; occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; May be required to be on-call 24 hours a day.

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
