The Penelope Independent School District is seeking a new Wolverine to serve as Athletic Director, Football Coach, and Classroom Teacher!

Classroom Teacher applicants must hold proper state certification (preferably including an ESL endorsement) or be entering an alternative certification program.

Teaching assignment is for Junior High or High School grade levels. Subject area is flexible.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Focus daily on student learning.
Possess and communicate a vision of the role athletics plays in the lives of students.
Demonstrate fiscal stewardship over athletic department budget.
Must possess knowledge of UIL rules and regulations.
Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Reading, Special Reading).
Effectively implement district initiatives.
Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
Share in the positive school culture and work environment.
Be a Wolverine.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: 
Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
Remain current on instructional practices in education.
