Abbott ISD is looking for a highly qualified Life Skills teacher. Qualifications: A person that is patient, compassionate, and has a working knowledge of handling students with diverse backgrounds. One that provides students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Ensures the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs. Has the ability to recognize differences in each student’s special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs and adapts methods and interaction accordingly. Has a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university along with a valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment.
