SUMMARY

Coordinate local, state, national standardized testing programs and analysis of data from the assessment program and provide campuses the necessary information required for improvement of instruction. 

Support district and campus 504 programs to ensure provision of needed services.  Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  •     Fulfill the role of Building Test Coordinator for the campus.
  •     Know, interpret, and carry out rules and regulations relating to the Texas state assessment program
  •     Attend testing coordinator training provided by the educational service center, TEA, and other entities
  •     Train campus personnel in the implementation of the state and local assessment program, including, but not limited to, administrators, diagnosticians, counselors, and teachers
  •     Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of testing materials and student performance results
  •     Investigate, document and report testing irregularities
  •     Coordinate all aspects of campus test planning and administration by providing training, ordering, distributing, collecting, and shipping testing materials, as well as maintaining accurate inventory of materials received and distributed for fall, spring and summer testing administrations (EOC, TELPAS, AP, PSAT, SAT, ,ACT, IB, NAEP, state field tests, STAAR –A, STAAR-L)
  •     Monitor campus compliance with assessment related individual accountability systems such as the Student Success Initiative (SSI), Individual Graduation Committee’s (IGC) and Individual Graduation Review’s (IGR)
  •     Maintain accuracy of student testing records in online state assessment systems
  •     Communicate effectively with campus and central office staff
  •     Demonstrate skill in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and other basic office
  •     productivity software
  •     Maintain attention to detail while recognizing the broader implications of actions at the student, classroom, campus, department and district level
  •     Organize people, time, spaces, materials and procedures in an efficient and effective manner to achieve a desired outcome
  •     Know requirements, rules and regulations of the state and national testing program
  •     Effectively use ESTAR online system
  •     Set and achieve deadlines and solve problems in a timely manner
  •     Schedule and conduct 504 meeting with campus level staff and parents to ensure timeliness and compliance
  •     Coordinate 504 services at the campus level
  •     Ensure appropriate maintenance, implementation and updating of all 504 Individual Accommodation Plans
  •     Remain current on required 504 annual training(s) and 504 law/policy and providing necessary training and updates to campus staff
  •     Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Master’s Degree in educational administration, curriculum, or related field preferred
    Texas Mid-Management or Principal certification
    Valid teaching certificate
    Minimum three (3) years successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
    Experience as an Assistant Principal, Principal, or Coordinator preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

    Knowledge of IDEA and Section 504 federal law
    Strong organizational skills.
    Ability to analyze, interpret and summarize date.
    Ability to interpret law, policy and procedures.
    Strong written and verbal communications/presentation skills.
    Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of federal/state assessment requirements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS


Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing to a variety of audiences including conferences with parents, community service providers, district staff, chairing committee meetings, preparing written student evaluations, preparing written reports regarding program implementation/recommendations, preparing policies and procedures, and conducting staff development activities.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic math and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITIES

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
