Math Interventionist

Gatesville Intermediate School

18-19 School Year

 Primary Purpose:

To support the district’s K- 6 Instructional programs to ensure academic improvement and student success. The focus of the position is on Instructional interventions for struggling students and teacher support.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification Bachelor’s Degree

Valid Texas Teacher Certification appropriate for area assigned

 

Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of curriculum, design and implementation

Knowledge of state curriculum and assessments Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience Five years experience as a classroom teacher 

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Works with individual students and student groups to provide effective interventions to improve student performance.

2. Support classroom instruction through modeling and mentoring.

3. Facilitate campus screening and assist with all other state and local assessments as needed.
