Essential Functions:
  1. Maintain confidentiality of client/agency information as required by State and Federal laws, appropriate regulations, and professional practice.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively in written and/or verbal form to elementary students, parents, members of the public, and staff.
  3. Must consistently demonstrate and communicate EOAC’s Mission and Vision.
  4. Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs to maximize student achievement in reading and math. Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs through data analysis, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate. Promote the use of technology in teaching/learning process.
  5. Promote a positive, caring climate for learning for elementary students.
  6. Conduct needs analysis to identify teaching and learning needs at each campus and organize and implement problem solving strategies with teachers and administrators.
  7. Design interventions and write lesson plans detailing methods and materials; Help teachers diagnose reading and math strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials.
  8. Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Special Education, etc.)
  9. Teach students in a pull-out setting for reading, and mathematics, as needed. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
  10. Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignment.
  11. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attend school-sponsored activities, and functions.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

  16. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  17. Intermediate skill and familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel and Outlook.
  18. Must have effective presentation of information and strong spoken language skills.
  19. Ability and desire to work with elementary school students from an at-risk population, as stated in the Waco Charter School charter.
  20. Ability to maintain confidentially of student records, charter school records, and other sensitive student data.
  21. Comply with the Code of Ethics for Texas Educators.
  22. Strong core content knowledge in reading and literacy, and mathematic development.
  23. Knowledge and experience with classroom implementation of rigorous curriculum and instructional strategies in reading/English Language Arts and mathematics.
